combinations basic trunk patterns, and lower extremity patterns.
In addition, it is discusses clinical application of these patterns
as performed within the PNF philosophy.
The
emphasis of the course is on hands-on
performance of the patterns & activities and discussions of clinical
applications and variations as they apply to the neurological and
orthopedic patient.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Cristiana Kahl, PT, MA, NCS is a 1986
graduate of New York University where she also received her Advanced
Masters Degree in Developmental Disabilities in 1994. She is
currently pursuing a doctoral degree in physical therapy at NOVA
Southeastern University. In addition to numerous courses on
treatment techniques and handling skills for the neurological
population, she has extensive training in manual/osteopathic
therapy. Cristiana completed the 6-month PNF Post-Graduate
Residency at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Vallejo, CA in 2000
and became a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Neurologic
Physical Therapy in June 2003. Her clinical experience includes 8
years of inpatient & outpatient neurological rehabilitation followed
by 9 years of practice in the outpatient orthopedic setting with
focus on manual treatment approaches. In addition to her extensive
clinical experience, Cristiana has been an Assistant Professor at
Long Island University since 1991 where she is responsible for the
Neurological Therapeutic Exercise course and has taught several PNF
courses for practicing clinicians. As a ‘hands-on’ clinician,
Cristiana has found that her PNF training has provided her with a
powerful tool and clinical skills to tap into and maximize, every
client’s neuromuscular potential, independent of diagnosis.
